Same Shorts, 3 Looks
At a recent birthday dinner I attended, it was too hot outside to have on anything below the knee. I was stressed trying to figure out how was I going to wear the least amount of clothes but still be birthday dinner appropriate. Last month I shared how to wear the same skirt and create 3 different moods. This time it's the same shorts paired with various pieces to make a dinner appropriate look. In this post I give you 3 different outfits and 3 different ways to dress up a simple pair of shorts: accessorize, find a statement piece, and don't be afraid to mix in winter pieces!
Accessorize
I love a pair of shorts with a simple button down and a big necklace! Any type of button down will do! Sheer, printed but with these green linen shorts from Old Navy I decided to go with a Chambray top!
Shorts: Old Navy
Top: Old Navy
Earrings & Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: Ashley Stewart
Shoes: Target
Statement Piece
I love statement pieces, with that being said I brought in one of my favorite faux fur vest. It will completely make people forget you have shorts on at the dinner table.
Fur Vest: Belk
Hat: Forever 21
Shoes: Torrid
Mix in Winter Pieces
I bought this suede top with slits on the side (I don't even know how to classify these tops) last winter but I couldn't find the right pieces to make it a complete outfit. On me it looks better paired with shorts, so that's what I did here! I love mixing this gray with green! And in case the temperatures drop at night this long suede thingy can keep you warm.
