Designer Finds on A Budget: Rent The Runway Sample Sale
There were designs by Twenty, Phillip Lim, Jason Wu, Vera Wang, Alaya and more. This was the time to snag a couture gown for a great price. Check out some photos where people in Beverly Hills were shopping it up and taking advantage of this Sample Sale!Along with gowns, daily wear such as dresses, coats, tops and jumpsuits there was also designer handbags and accessories. Cheapest was a very iced out bracelet from designer Elizabeth an James Accessories at $15, most expensive I saw was a gown from Valentino Red for $800( these were gently used and not current seasons)
Of course I couldn't leave without buying at least ONE thing, right? bought a chic black an white jacket with black mesh sleeves from designer Alala it was only $30! It's not fun unless you try on designer wear right!!! Here is myself in Halston ready to wear! It was only $40 I believe originally around $250.
Ok so after planning trips there's planning for the weekdays and weekends. You can find out about upcoming sample sales by subscribing to websites that keep up with daily events going on in the city near you, also by following fashion icons that post fashion events. I personally like to use welikeLA.com. While looking into what events are going on, I spotted Rent the Runway's yearly sample sale. Designer merchandise is marked up to 90% off!! So I definitely had to check this out
Depending on the sale you should arrive early but this one lasted for 4 days and it was from 9am-7pm, so there was plenty of time. People were really calm, the crowd was very selective and behaved differently especially since it was in Beverly Hills. It was like regular shopping. However, when it was time to try on anything there was only 3 big rooms that multiple women would go into and have to share.
